Light of the World

Every year, my parents let me put up Christmas lights in my room. I think i left them up thru the end of January, if not longer. 🤣 I loved it! I always loved all the traditions of the Christmas season, but for some reason, this one has stuck in my mind every year. I think as a kid, my fear of the dark made the Christmas lights that much better! I knew the lights would drive out the darkness during the Christmas season.

So when I asked Asher if he wanted a Christmas tree and lights in his room, I was pretty excited that he said YES! But my prayer is that not just the magic of the season sticks with him through the years. I want the truth of what Jesus came to do to last long after he doesn’t want lights and a tree in his room anymore. Jesus, the light bringer. The one who would come to save! 

“In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” John 1:4-5
